Blending traditional real estate know-how with a background in computer programming and big data management, Mike brings a rare combination of intuition and technical skill to the table. Over the years, he has built large-scale property listing and management platforms as a personal hobby—many of which remain active and integral to the market today. His work with over 5,000 domain names, including brokering hundreds of them, has earned him accolades in the digital space. A prime example of his technical prowess is the very website you’re browsing—fed by data from national MLS providers, reorganized, and displayed through Shopify’s robust backend for a seamless and lightning-fast property browsing experience. During the 2008 mortgage crisis, Mike developed proprietary loss severity analysis tools to help lenders calculate large loan pools and forecast foreclosure outcomes. His in-house methodology integrates data on eviction processes, delinquency rates, crime statistics, property valuations, and more—providing lenders with the insights they need for effective REO asset management while meeting regulatory standards.

Mike has worked with over 35 of the most sophisticated lenders—local, national, and global, both public and private—successfully handling valuation and sales for their real estate portfolios. His REO expertise is well-known, with a track record that reads like a who’s who of the banking industry. During the last foreclosure crisis, Mike was invited to speak at several high-profile industry events, sharing insights and best practices for managing distressed assets.

Commerical, Land, Development
On the commercial and development front, Mike’s experience includes a wide range of projects: a 30+ unit townhome lease conversion in the western Twin Cities, a 150+ unit condominium lease conversion development in Minnesota, a 50,000-square-foot religious facility with new zoning approvals, and a 20+ unit single-family development successfully negotiated with lenders. His work also spans a 100-acre single-family land reconfiguration in southern Minnesota, a 20-unit apartment complex in the Twin Cities, and a 75-acre raw land conversion. Mike has led negotiations for county and city-level easements, secured utility agreements, and managed ingress and egress designs on major Minnesota thoroughfares. His leadership has enabled comprehensive development plans resulting in a $10 million refinancing—solidifying his role as a trusted advisor for complex real estate transactions.
